Just read this brilliant article from Stylist Magazine:

    https://www.stylist.co.uk/visible-women/feminist-events-suffrage-suffragette-centenary-2018-london-manchester/184920

I’m going to the Frida Khalo exhibition in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait!!

But these talks, exhibitions and events all sounds brilliant.  Get along to one if you can

If you are in London in August, these look great:

AND – most importantly on 13th July – there is the a Womens March in London.  The day that President Trump will visit the UK for the first time.

More information on #bringthenoise at their website.

Love the links – I’ve missed all of these events. Just checking my diary to go to London on July 13th. Too good an opportunity to miss!

☀ Things I try to do every summer:

    1. Pick Your Own.. http://www.pickyourownfarms.org.uk/

    2. Countryside Fair… https://www.farminguk.com/countryshowsandevents

    3. Camp… https://coolcamping.com/

I’m also going to try and make more effort to go to some city festivals this year and override my instinct to run for the hills at every opportunity! 😆 So, if anyone has any recommendations for things to do up north, I would love to hear them.

@lou I’m actually going to Blogtacular simply so I can justify a trip to London to see the Frida exhibition .

This year I chose ‘ease’ as my word and this summer is going to be full of ease.  It is my last summer with a child at home so I’m hoping for lots of gatherings and lazy afternoons, camping in the garden, cooking outside, gardening, reading, painting.  I want the summer to feel lazy, not as though it is rushing by.

Then, at the end of the summer – after my youngest has flown to Myanmar – it is The Good Life Experience (https://www.thegoodlifeexperience.co.uk/buy-tickets/) followed by 2 weeks in Majorca with a pile of books and a journal.

WOW! Jane!  Sounds like a lush summer planned. I love the Good Life Experience. I went to the first 2. But it’s such a funny time of year, kids just gone back to school, that I feel a festival then is just too much.  Must give it another go, now they are a bit older, and now Charlie is home ed.

We love the Good Life Experience too. I’ve been to the last 2. One at 34 weeks pregnant (camping was interesting) and then again with Martha. Two very different experiences and so much to see and do. I made Martha a festival wagon to trolley her around in. That and a pair of ear defenders meant she was snug as a bug in the evenings.

We’re off to the ParentFolk Weekender: The Outdoorsy One in the Wirral on Saturday.

Camping is also a must for us. We’re off to Cornwall in July and thinking about taking road trip to Italy in September.

    Hi @emmak

I’ve not heard of Parentfolk – had a look, and it looks totally up our street. Would have tried to get over this weekend, but our little boy has just come down with chicken pox, so we’re under house arrest. (*whispers* help! 🙈)

Are you camping in Cornwall? I collect recommendations.

And, as for Italy – have you seen the grid/stories by @Xantheb on Instagram exploring the Amalfi Coast? Oh my!

I hope the chicken pox passes quickly @natashajackson.

We are camping in Cornwall here http://www.highermoor.co.uk. We’re going with friends who stay there every year. It is a lovely, pretty chilled campsite run by an elderly couple who like to confirm bookings through the post!

We’ve also stayed here in the past https://www.denniscovecampsite.co.uk which I think features in cool camping.

We discovered the Hidden Hut last year which does amazing food including feast nights http://www.hiddenhut.co.uk & would throughly recommend trying to catch the Fisherman’s Friends singing on a Friday night on the platt in Port Isaac if you haven’t ever seen them before.

    I haven’t seen @Xantheb. Will take a look now!

    Thanks @emmak

These sites look perfect, I will be adding them to my ‘little black book’ of places to stay.

The Hidden Hut looks amazing. The promo video says it all! Hidden Hut

Have a great time at ParentFolk this weekend xx 🎪

Hello. Just reading this thread (hope that is ok, feel a bit like I’m overhearing someone else’s conversation and then butting in?! I guess its ok on forums right?) Anyway, just wanted to say the Hidden Hut looks cool. I love the idea of feast nights! Such a great idea and perhaps something I could do here in France at La Cannonerie…thanks for the inspiration!
